THE NATIONALS
January 20, 2010 (Washington, DC) – The National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) and the National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC) have announced the winners for this year’s “Nationals” awards. “The Nationals are the most prestigious awards of their kind, setting the benchmark for innovations in new home design, marketing and sales,” said Mary DeWalt, chairperson of the Nationals. “NAHB’s commitment to recognizing originality, imagination and success has been exemplified by its award winners since the competition’s inception.” Started in 1982, as the Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM) Awards, The Nationals award program continues to recognize superior new home sales and marketing achievements. With 63 categories across various disciplines of the homebuilding industry, the awards honor excellence in product and community design, advertising, marketing and sales achievements across the United States. Winners of the Nationals emerge after a painstaking three day judging process that includes evaluation by some of the industry’s leading architects, builders, and marketing professionals representing a wide range of disciplines.
The first award was presented to Windstar in the category of Best Product Design for a Custom Home. The award-winning Villa Terranova was one of only seven homes across the country to receive this honor. The 18,000 square foot waterfront estate located on beautiful Snell Isle, features virtually every amenity one might expect in a world-class, one-of-a-kind residence. The company’s second award was presented for Best On The Boards, given for the best single family design concept. Villa Cipriani, an 11,000 sq ft new home design concept was one of only five to receive this award in the nation. This design concept truly accentuates the synergy between indoor and outdoor spaces and showcases the many new innovations and green building technologies available to architects and builders today.
In addition to these high-honors, Tampa-based Windstar Homes recently earned three prestigious Aurora Awards at the most recent Southeast Building Conference (SEBC). “We are proud that our homes have gained recognition for superlative standards from the leaders in our industry” says Bobby Gross, who along with partner David Lesser, own Windstar Homes.
Founded in 1996, Windstar Homes provides a wide range of services that include New Home Design; Landscaping and Swimming Pool Design; complete Construction Services; as well as the full range of Interior Design and Decorating including Furniture and Window Treatments.
